Poleline Road and Covell Boulevard intersection closed

Poleline Road and Covell Boulevard intersection closed

Emergency electrical line repairs have caused the closure of the Poleline Road and Covell Boulevard intersection, according to a traffic advisory released by Davis police.

The intersection is closed in all directions and heavy traffic is expected for detours around the area.

Davis police recommends drivers avoid the area until repairs are made.

The Winter Holiday Anti-DUI crackdown has resulted in a number of DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 8 DUI deployments during the past several days in Yolo County.

From 12:01 AM Friday December 14, 2012 through Midnight Friday December 28, 2012 officers representing 8 county law enforcement agencies have arrested13 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

            (NOTE: These numbers are only provisional with some agencies yet to report)

Road closures planned for County Road 98/27

Due to PG&E construction, there will be lane closures with one-way guided traffic on County Roads 98 and 27 on Wednesday December 12, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Closures will occur in the following locations:

  • County Road 98 from County Roads 27 to 29
  • County Road 27 from County Road 98 to 500 feet east of County Road 98

Motorists can expect up to 20 minute delays or more depending on traffic.  Access to all properties along County Roads 27, 29 and 98 will be provided at all times.

This project will energize 52 recently constructed power poles on the east side of County Road 98 from 1,400 feet south of County Road 29 to 1,400 feet south of County Road 27.

YOLOBUS and Food Bank Partner to Fight Hunger in Yolo County

Help fight hunger by donating a non-perishable food item when you see the shopping carts with the Yolobus entry

(Woodland, CA) Yolobus, Yolo County’s transit provider, has teamed with the Food Bank of Yolo County and Veolia Transportation to help fight hunger this holiday season.  Yolobus will accept non-perishable food donations on December 8th during the Woodland Holiday Parade.  Volunteers from both Yolo County Transportation District and Veolia Transportation will push shopping carts in the Woodland Parade accepting non-perishable food donations.  Donors should wave to the volunteer nearest them.  The volunteer will pull the cart up to the donor and accept the non-perishable food item.  Everyone donating will receive a Yolobus prize.
