Motorcyclist dies after collision with big rig in Vacaville | News

VACAVILLE, CA - A Vacaville motorcyclist died Sunday from injuries he suffered when he hit a big rig Feb. 14.

City spokesman Mark Mazzaferro said Frank Gonsalves, 36, was riding his motorcycle on southbound Nut Tree Boulevard at Fairview Drive at 12:27 p.m. last Thursday when he couldn't stop in time to avoid hitting the truck in the northbound lane turning left into a grocery store rear parking lot.

Gonsalves was taken by air ambulance to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center with severe head trauma, according to Mazzaferro.
