Fields of Lavender in Cache Creek This Weekend

The Cache Creek Lavender Farm will host the Annual Cache Creek Lavender Festival this weekend, June 9-10, at their charming farm located in Rumsey.  The weekend will be filled with all things lavender!

Feast your eyes on rows and rows of blooming purple lavender, where visitors can pick their own flowers, learn about lavender products, listen to live music, and enjoy wine tasting with local winery Capay Valley Vineyards. Bring a picnic and spend the day enjoying the sweet smell of lavender.

Cache Creek Lavender Farm, growers and purveyors of organic lavender and lavender products in the finest French tradition, is located in the beautiful Capay Valley in western Yolo County, California. They began growing lavender in 1997 and the next year started selling fresh lavender flowers and products at Northern California farmers’ markets.

Heidrick Ag History Center Unviels New Interactive Exhibit

On June 13th, the Heidrick Ag History Center, home to the largest collection of vintage agricultural machinery in North America, will unveil a new interactive exhibit during a special reception at the museum in Woodland, CA

The Heidrick Ag History Center will showcase a new 10 piece tractor exhibit and introduce new cell phone technology to help visitors delve more deeply into the story of each machine. Visitors can access extra information by dialing a special phone number on their cell phone, where they will hear a pre-recorded historical overview on each specific antique tractor. The exhibit includes tractors from the Heidrick’s permanent collection as well as pieces on loan from a private collector. "The guide by cell exhibit is innovative and shows that the museum is staying on the cutting edge with interactive ways to tour the museum" says Dan Best II, Heidrick Board Member.

Friday Night Fever Creekwalk Concert Series 2012

The CreekWalk is a place for everyone to have fun and relax in a community setting. It was started in Summer of 2000 and has been a growing success every year since. Enjoy music, sun and fun with friends and family while surrounded by a beautiful park setting. Vendors are available who provide cold drinks, food and desserts, and sponsors, organizations and other exhibitors display information about themselves.

CreekWalk is for babies to grandparents and everyone in-between. $2 concerts and events sponsored throughout the Summer mean you never have to wonder what you're going to do on Friday nights, or the 4th of July. Just come out and have fun!
