Child Support Workshops in August Part of Child Support Awareness Month

Child Support Workshops in August Part of Child Support Awareness Month

“Children are the best part of ourselves – the sum of our past and the promise of our future, the guarantee that our lives and values and dreams will flourish long after we are gone.”  With that statement, then President Bill Clinton made an official proclamation in 1995 that recognized the month of August as Child Support Awareness Month.

Child Support Awareness Month is a time to salute parents who work hard to ensure their children grow up in stable homes and look forward to a bright future.  It is also a time to help remind parents who are not always present that they are an important part of their children’s lives.

Something for Everyone at the Winters Community Library

Something for Everyone at the Winters Community Library

There are a number of special programs being offered at the Winters Community Library, a joint-use library partnership between the Yolo County Library and Winters High School.

The Tales 4 Tails program occurs every Tuesday, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., through the end of June.  The program allows young readers to meet with a gentle service dog for 15 minutes and practice reading skills with that special listener.  Space is limited, so contact the library [(530) 795-4955] soon to reserve time with a big, lovable pooch.

An English Conversation Group will be starting on May 8.  It will be held weekly on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  It is geared toward adults, but open to all who wish to improve their conversational English skills.  Come practice your language skills in a friendly, communal atmosphere.  No registration necessary.
