UC releases final recommendations in wake of pepper-spray incident | Education

BERKELEY, CA - The final version of recommendations for University of California campus policies on protest response was released Thursday.

UC President Mark Yudof requested identification of current best practices and recommendations following highly visible and controversial campus responses to demonstrations and police action at UC Davis and UC Berkeley within the past year.

The report make 49 recommendations, including greater communication between management teams and stakeholders; administrator and campus police management of incidents;and more training.

Implementation of most of the recommendations is within the authority of individual campus administrations and UC police.
