1 dead, 1 injured in Fairfield shooting | Crime
FAIRFIELD, CA - One man is dead and another dead following a shooting outside a Fairfield bar on Wednesday night.
Cleo Mayoral of the Fairfield Police Dept. said officers responded to a call of a big fight at Perk's Place bar on the 600 block of Parker Road around 8:45 p.m. While enroute to the bar, the call was upgraded to a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. A 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, a 31-year-old Fairfield resident, was taken to hospital where he was listed in serious, but stable condition, Mayoral said.
According to Mayoral, an ensuing investigation determined the shooting occurred as a result of a fight inside the bar which spilled outside.
No explanation was provided as to the cause of the fight or the relationship between the men.
Major Crime Unit Detectives were able to obtain leads in the case and worked through the night to identify the shooters. However, Mayoral said no suspect information was available currently.
The shooting victim's identity was withheld pending notification of family.
