Woodland man suspected of stabbing sleeping wife | Crime

WOODLAND, Calif. - A Woodland man was arrested Wednesday morning after his wife was stabbed in the chest while sleeping beside her 9-year-old daughter.
Woodland Police Sergeant Steve Guthrie said officers were dispatched to 14 W. Cross St. at 1 a.m. following a report of a woman who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers apprehended Guillermo Aldama, 35, of Woodland.
An ensuing investigation revealed Aldama had stabbed his wife in the upper chest with a knife while she slept next to her daughter, said Guthrie.
Aldama's wife was transported to UC Davis medical center with non-life threatening injuries.
Aldama was booked at Yolo County Jail on charges of attempted homicide and child endangerment.
