Fight over dog leaves Fairfield teen shot | Crime

FAIRFIELD, CA - An argument over the ownership of a dog led to a teen getting shot and the arrest of two suspects in Fairfield Monday.

Fairfield police Officer Cleo Mayoral said three individuals went to the victim's home on the 1100 block of Dana Drive Monday afternoon. There was a dispute over a dog outside the teen's apartment. During the incident, one of the visitors tried to kick down the teen's door and the youth armed himself with a handgun. There was a scuffle and during the altercation, the teen's gun discharged with a bullet striking his hand and grazing his head, Mayoral said.

Another one of the visitors took the gun and two of the three individuals grabbed the dog and some marijuana from inside the victim's apartment, Mayoral said.

Officers investigated and arrested two of the visitors: Kenneth Taylor, 22, of Fairfield, and Bryana Mitchell, 21, of Suisun City on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon (firearm), robbery, and theft of a firearm. They were booked into Solano County Jail. 

The third person with Taylor and Mitchell has not been located.

Mayoral did not say if the dog was returned.
