Davis police seek leads to sexual assault on downtown street | Crime

DAVIS, CA - Davis police were investigating a sexual assault on a pedestrian just before midnight Thursday.

The woman was walking in the area of Fourth and J streets at about 11:50 p.m. when she was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted, said Lt. Glenn Glasgow.

The victim told officers the attacker then fled, running eastbound on Fourth Street.

The only description was that the attacker was male.

The Davis Police Department urged anyone who was in the area and may have seen a suspicious person to call investigators at (530) 747-5400.

Police reminded to be aware of surroundings, stay in well-lit and populated areas if possible, don't walk alone, and walk with confidence.
