DAVIS, CA - Three men confronted and attacked a Davis bicyclist in the H Street tunnel Thursday evening, say police.
Lt. Glenn Glasgow said the victim, a 45-year-old local man, told officers he was surrounded by the men at approximately 8 p.m. as he rode his bike in the tunnel. They pushed him off of his bike and hit him in the head with something made of metal. They demanded he turn over his wallet, which he did.
He escaped and called police. When officers responded, they found the victim's bike was missing, too, Glasgow said.
The assailant/robbers were described as Hispanic, in their 20s and all about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. They wore dark hoodie sweatshirts and dark pants.
They were witnessed running eastbound toward J Street after the attack.
Anyone with information about what happened was asked to contact the Davis Police Department at (530) 747-5400.
