FAIRFIELD, CA - Several explosive devices detonated in a Fairfield residential neighborhood Wednesday morning.

According to Officer Cleo Mayoral with the Fairfield Police Department, several residents in the area and surrounding areas reported hearing a loud explosion around 6:17 a.m.

Officers arrived at the scene near Hickory Avenue and Evergreen Drive and found debris from four exploded two-liter plastic bottles. A fifth bottle, yet to explode, was found in the same area and the bomb squad was called in, police said.

The intact device was removed.

There were not injuries or damage from the blasts, and no evacuations were ordered, said Mayoral.

Police later described the homemade devices as dangerous, with the blasts caused by chemical reactions.

The police department's Major Crimes Bureau, with the assistance of the Yolo County Bomb Squad and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives continue to investigate.
