Yolo County Animal Services Seeks Home for Illuminating Kitty

The Yolo County Sheriff's Office, Animal Services Section, is searching for that special someone for "Ember", also known as Yolo County Animal Services Shelter ID number A110442.  "Ember" was found stranded atop a utility pole on Chaparral Way in West Sacramento.  Neighbors had seen this cat on top of the pole for days and were distraught by his plight but absolutely helpless to do anything.  Then along came Evan Cliff with PG&E to the rescue!  Evan cleared out his large tool belt and climbed up the utility pole very carefully, all the while wincing inside knowing this cat was within mere inches of being electrocuted or seconds away from jumping. When he got to the top he carefully picked up this scared feline, held him to his chest, then gently placed him in his tool belt for the climb down.  Miraculously this rescue went off without a hitch!

Since no one knew who owned this cat, Evan brought him to the Yolo County Animal Services Shelter in the hope he might be microchipped or could otherwise be reunited with his owner.  Unfortunately Ember was not microchipped and no owner has come forward.  Now Ember needs a home.  This is where YOU come in!  Ember is a trusting boy, very sweet and humble.  He is quiet, affectionate, engaging and enjoys being held.  Ember would likely do best in a single cat household and will make someone a loyal friend and light up your life!

You can light up Ember's life for the small fee of $50.00! The fee includes the cost of neuter, testing for FELV/FIV, rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine and microchip!

If you are not able to adopt a new companion, the Animal Shelter appreciates donations of liquid laundry detergent and Frontline or Advantage and kitties love balls with bells, ping pong balls or little furry mice to help provide play time!

The Yolo County Animal Shelter is located at 140-C Tony Diaz Drive with the entrance on E. Gibson Road, next to the main Sheriff’s office, in Woodland California. The Animal Shelter is open to the public between 10am-6pm, Tuesday-Friday and 10a-4p Saturday with limited services from 1p to 5p on Mondays.  We close for lunch Tuesday -Saturday from 1p-2p.

If you have any questions please contact Yolo County Sheriff's Office, Animal Services Section at (530) 668-5287 ext 0 during business hours.
